About Us
More Than a Season
Noroton Wrestling is built for athletes and families who want a place to grow — not just a winter sport, but a room that develops better competitors and better people.
Why we exist
Our Mission
To develop young wrestlers in Darien, Stamford and the surrounding towns into confident competitors and better people — through expert coaching, a supportive team culture, and the timeless lessons of the world's oldest sport.
How we coach
Our Approach
Fundamentals First
We build wrestlers from the ground up — stance, motion, position — so technique holds up when it matters most.
Develop Every Athlete
Beginner or state-placer, every wrestler gets coaching that meets them where they are and pushes them forward.
A Room That Lifts You
Culture is everything. We train alongside motivated peers in an environment built on respect and accountability.
Who we are
Our Story
Noroton Wrestling was founded by Bill and Cliff to give young athletes in Lower Fairfield County somewhere to wrestle all year. Few clubs were left in Darien, Norwalk and Stamford, and they wanted a place where kids could train year-round and genuinely belong to a wrestling club.
Today the club trains athletes from age 4 through high school — kids, elementary, middle and high school — with folkstyle in season and freestyle, Greco-Roman and folkstyle in the spring. Three practices a week, seasonal clinics and private coaching run out of our home at Bobby Valentine's Sports Academy in Stamford.
