Girls Wrestling

Girls Wrestling with Noroton

A respectful, safe, and welcoming program built specifically for female wrestlers — from first-timers to varsity competitors.

Our program

Built for girls, on purpose

Girls wrestling is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, with rapidly expanding high school and college opportunities. At Noroton Wrestling, we believe every girl deserves a place to train, compete, and thrive — without compromise.

Our girls program is intentional. We create an environment where female athletes are respected, supported, and set up to succeed — by coaches who take their development seriously.

Our commitments

Our commitments to our female athletes

Respect, always

Every athlete is treated with respect by coaches and teammates. We build a culture where girls feel valued and heard.

Consent-based training

Girls are never required to drill or compete against boys without their and their family's consent. Mixed-practice is always a choice, never an assumption.

A safe environment

We prioritize safety with appropriate supervision, clear conduct standards, and SafeSport-aligned practices for every athlete.

Real opportunity

We develop technique, strength, and confidence that translate to school teams, tournaments, and college recruiting.

Questions

Common questions from families

Does my daughter have to wrestle against boys?

No. We do not require girls to drill or compete against boys without consent from the athlete and her family. We build training groups thoughtfully.

Has she ever wrestled before? Does that matter?

Not at all. We welcome complete beginners and experienced competitors alike, and we meet every athlete where she is.

What does a safe environment look like here?

Appropriate supervision, clear standards of conduct, qualified coaches, and an inclusive culture where every girl belongs.

Is girls wrestling really growing?

Yes — it is among the fastest-growing high school sports in the U.S., with expanding college programs and scholarship opportunities.
